Meet Igbo Filmmaker, Sopuluchukwu Onyibor, Who Is Using His Charity Foundation To Provide Sanitary Pads For Young Girls In Igbo Land
Ndi Igbo say “Nwanyị bụ ugwu”, meaning that a “woman holds respect OR that a woman embodies respect”. And as such we Ndi Igbo take pride in the nurture and upbringing of our female children because they become the mothers who will carry our children and nurture the next generations.
We Ndi Igbo respect and value our women. And as such it gives us great joy to see young men like Sopuluchukwu Onyibor taking up a worthy course in nurturing and protecting our young girls, by providing them with sanitary pads and education on menstrual hygiene.
The ‘Pad A Girl Child Campaign’ which is organized yearly by the Sopulu Onyibor Foundation aims to eradicate period poverty and educate the girl child on the importance of menstrual hygiene.
Sopuluchukwu Onyibor is soliciting your support and partnership towards this year’s campaign which will take place on the 26th of May, 2023 in selected schools in Anambra. His target is to sensitize and give out at least 2,000 (Two thousand) sanitary pads to secondary school girls, and the figure is targeted at N500 (Five hundred Naira) per pad.
Umu Igbo, Biko we appeal to your good conscience to support Mr. Sopuluchukwu Onyibor and also partner with him, to make this charity project reach more of our girls and in turn protect and provide proper hygiene for the future mothers of our coming generations.

Sopulu Onyibor Foundation is a charity organization that aims to provide financial aid, grant scholarships, and organize charity events to improve society.
PAD A GIRL CHILD CAMPAIGN is a campaign geared towards eradication of period poverty and educating the girl child on the importance of menstrual hygiene
I kickstarted the pad a girl child campaign in 2021, and since then I and my team were able to give out over 2000 sanitary pads free of charge to secondary school girls.
